AN ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT SMALL GAS GRILL
I couldn't be more pleased with this Cuisinart grill. For starters, it required no assembly whatsoever. That was a major relief! Then, its design was more than functional; it was very attractive. Finally, and most significantly, its front-end dial enabled immediate ignition and easy temperature control. The actual grill is easy to remove and clean. That's another big-time plus. Are there any downsides? None at this point.

Dishwasher safe?
Two reviewers stated the grate could go in the dishwasher but the manual says do NOT put it in the dishwasher. Also, it says no water inside the grill so it uses a ton of paper towels to clean the inside after cooking burgers. Otherwise we have used it twice, successfully both times, just seems like it should be easier to clean. Q: Can I put the cooking grate and/or dip tray in the dishwasher? Temperature Control - It's a Portable Grill
I'm going straight to the temperature control. It is what it is. This is a small, portable, and as such, the fire is a lot closer to the food on the grill. That being the case, you have to use caution when walking away from the grill. If you are looking for a grill that allows you to walk away, this might not be the grill for you. We had no problems with the temperature control, but we would have had we not read the comments before purchasing this grill. If you want to close the lid, I recommend setting it in between the high and low settings (that is, medium, although there is no marking for medium, only marks for high and low, with dashes in between). On the medium setting, you can walk away for brief periods of time (1-4 minutes) without the food burning or the grill melting, even with the lid closed. If you want to grill on the high setting, keep the lid open always. We found the grill hottest in the middle, so we rotated food throughout the process, and you have to be mindful of this if you walk away from the grill. We give this grill the thumbs up.

Love this grill
I've had this grill a few months now and really do like it. It's a perfect size to cook for 4 people, and definitely you can cook for more by cooking in batches. In my photos you'll see 6 Brats and a few mushrooms fit on there with room to spare. Heat distribution is fine, it gets hotter in the middle and is cooler on the outer edges, so expect to move the food around so that everything cooks evenly. I find it handy to have the cooler areas at the edges so I can just move food over there to keep warm but slow down the cooking. From my experience this is fairly normal for grill cooking anyway. The portability is a bonus, as well as not having to deal with coals. I've had both types of grills over the years and I'd say for convenience this is probably one of the best. It's straightforward to clean after it cools down. All round a great little grill.

Bought this 8 years ago. It's been my regular grill, sitting out in the elements usually unprotected. Abused and only rarely cleaned. The top is starting to rust and it needs another cleaning so I thought I'd look at a replacement which is why I'm on amazon, But that's silly. I'll just clean this one up. It works fine for my basic burger/steak needs. My assessment after this time: it's not a powerhouse. WIndy, winter days are marginal. The starter no longer works , but I could probably fix if I tried. The temp control could be better, but again I'm not doing anything fancy. It picks up and goes very easily. It works great for me and I like it.

For car camping and picnics this is a great little BBQ. It fits 6 hamburger patties - regular size - tightly. Drip pan, grill, and inside all clean up easily.
