Another Quality Delta Faucet

What I enjoy most about this faucet is its simplicity and efficiency. It's a straight-forward design and simple execution. The spout rises high and far out, so you have a lot of space underneath to do your thing. I also love the matte black color as it hides all the water spots and stains really well - I only have to simply wipe them down every few days, and I only do a deep clean every couple weeks, instead of weekly for the shiny chrome faucets. The three-hole design gives space to the handles so you have a lot of room to operate them. This also makes cleaning and wiping much easier than if they were all bunched up into a single unit. However, the design could be better - I have had much better looking Delta faucets before, and so in the overall scheme of things, and especially since the price is almost $500, I give it four stars for being a quality faucet, but not one that stands out with looks or features.

Welcome to the world of Pex

Delta makes a wide range of plumbing fixtures, of course, from inexpensive to pretty darn expensive. I have an inexpensive Delta rain showerhead, which is mostly plastic, and I have another, very expensive Delta rain showerhead that is all metal and a total beast. This particular faucet is one of the more costly Delta faucets, but it isn’t nearly as impressive as the price would indicate. The connections rely on push-to-connect plastic Pex lines, not the old-fashioned metal flex lines. I know this is the new thing, but I’m not wild about them. For one thing, the lines are very long, out of the box, so ideally, you’d cut them to fit your exact lengths. But Pex connections must be very precise for them not to leak—meaning, if you cut them, but cut must be extremely flat. You shouldn’t use a box knife or snips; you should use a special Pex cutting tool, something a plumber will certainly have, but not something your average DYIer will have (even though they’re pretty cheap; you can find one on Amazon for ten bucks or so). The other thing about Pex that I don’t like is that, once you’ve inserted a line into its connection, you can’t pull it out and start over—you have to use a new connector, which, to me, is a total pain. The included drain assembly is all metal, and it’s well made; you must seal it with silicon caulk to prevent leaking. However, the drain lever at the back of the faucet that connects to the drain assembly under the sink is terrible—it’s curved, and it’s impossible to set up so that the drain can be closed smoothly and easily. I gave up and replaced it with a separate popup drain assembly, and it works much, much better. The hot and cold handles work well, except that they don’t tell you if they’re on or how much water they’re set to dispense. What I mean is, if I turn on a little bit of hot water, use it for a 10 seconds or so, then I want to turn off the water, I have to think, did I turn on the hot or the cold? And if the flow is too much or too little, which way do I turn the knob? I’m still getting used to this faucet, of course, but I didn’t have to think about these things with the previous faucet, which used lever-style handles. And last, the aerator that ships with the faucet is an incredibly cheap piece of plastic. I know; they’re pretty standard equipment these days, but after I removed it, I didn’t have one on hand to replace it after I screwed it up. To remove the aerator, you must use a small plastic tool that ships with the faucet, and once it is removed, it’s difficult to replace without stripping the plastic threads. I was trying to replace it with a Neoperl on-off water-saving aerator, but apparently, the thread is slightly different, so I may have to live with the standard crappy aerator. At least the aerator makes the water flow very smooth and not splashy. So, I’m not as impressed with this particular faucet as I am with some of Delta’s other products. It’s okay, but for the price, I expected a little more.

Elegantly chiseled...

The media could not be loaded. Delta makes great faucets and this is Delta at the top of its game. If you like the looks, you’ll love the quality. Delta’s warranty is a lifetime warranty for original owners, and it’s bulletproof. I’ve never had anything but quick and generous results from Delta customer service. This is a three-base three-hole bathroom vanity faucet. Delta makes a faucet that looks somewhat similar, with basically identical faucet handles, but as a single base two-hole model. It’s a fine and elegant faucet, and it runs $100 less than this model, but I prefer this model’s kind of rectilinear (and higher) spout, and I think the three hole setup is more elegant. But if you want to save money, consider the similar model on a single base. Note in the included video the graceful and elegant rod for opening and closing the drain valve. And the drain valve being made of thick, heavy metal rather than cheap plastic. Another piece of quality construction is the integrated Pex supply lines feeding the valves. You don’t need to connect to the valves, you only need to connnect the Pex running from from the valves to your supply line/valve. Look, I can’t say enough good about this faucet. All I can say is that it’s even better in person than it looks in pictures. You will love the elegance and the quality of this system. It’s expensive, but it’s beautiful….

A DREAM, my dream faucet!

Amazing and so perfect in every way! Has a beautiful eggshell finish I just LOVE. The flawless farmhouse looks (even tho we live a ranch style) Perfection! I have two of these for the master bedroom and one for the cabin-themed guest bathroom. Look excellent with the beadboard cabinets and brown colors in the granite. Super easy install by my plumber, uncomplicated nothing to really go wrong even for DIY.

Modern and elegant

This is a three-hole lavatory faucet set. The pieces are all solid metal. The spout stands 6.75” off the surface and extends 4.75” out. The handles are approximately 2.75” in diameter. Also included in the set are PEX supply lines and a rod-operated drain plug assembly, as well as instructions. I really like the look and feel of this faucet set. It is rugged, designed to last a lifetime. The set was also relatively easy to install since the supply lines are integrated with the set. The drain assembly was the biggest challenge for installation. Very finicky! The set looks great in our newly redecorated bathroom. Overall, this set is elegant and built to last.
