These could probably lift a car. The galvanized cable is awesome. It doesn't rust and is attached solidly to the clip with galvanized compression fittings. The actual hook is a safety hook with a double release feature and a tab that prevents rope from slipping out. HOWEVER I have one big complaint. In the picture it is shown as having 2 clips. There is only one clip and only a hog-ring on the other end. So they basically make you buy another dang clip. I got this for $20 open box so I'm keeping it, but I found that annoying enough to reduce my rating by a star. Hope that helps.
