The outside is very thick, felt like a work shoe.

This shoe was one of the 6 I tried through Amazon before I bought. This shoe seemed the most stiff of them all--even the outside fabric/material that seemed like a steel toe like material.

Fantastic Light Weight Rugged Hiking / Walking Shoe

Gotta give props to the Ultimate Survival Gear's review on You Tube. he was reviewing the boot version and his review was solid. I wanted a half ankle version and found a great deal on here at $60. They have since added $40 more dollars to that price but even at over a $100 you are getting your moneys worth. This is a tough, stable rugged shoe. The plate totally pushes this shoe into another category for me. It's my first real hiking shoe. It feels like it will last a number of years. Thumbs up!

Been looking for a great shoe for a Good while now, that feels good and has all the qualities needed for all weather trekking and hiking ???? Happy I found it. I am usually a size 12, got this in a 13 and they fit great.

Just the job

Googled best walking shoes 2021 and these were in the top ten (UK site). Well worth that praise and it’s my first pair from this manufacturer but certainly won’t be the last. No more poor quality Merrell walking shoes for me now!
