Great little filter. It’s very quiet.

Great little filter. When I shake the filter a little during removal and the debris that comes off of it is insane. It’s very quiet. As quiet as the hang filter. The bubbles are louder. I have it set at med bubbles. I did manage to remove the bottom and planning to replace with sponge and zeolite.

Great product

I have two 1 gallon betta tanks of different shapes and these fit perfectly. They filter the tanks really well, and they are crystal clear. I love how well you can control the flow too, which is very important for Betas as they need low flow. Highly recommend

Great Nano Filter

This is a really nice filter suited for a nano aquarium. The only downside is that the cartridge is disposable and isn't designed to be opened. However, there is a work around: I did manage to open it and swapped out the carbon for more biological filter media. It's reliable and effective since it doesn't have any moving parts.

Works great in small bowl, 1 gallon

This is keeping a small bowl supper clean for 1 betta in a 1 gallon bowl. A little hard to keep it stable in a rounded bowl. I do it though without issue.

Great little filter!

I bought this filter because I didn’t want a big sponge eyesore in my 5g tank taking up a lot of space. This little air driven filter was the perfect solution. It works well and was very easy to install. The one downside is the media is not removable. You have to buy the replacement filter cartridge so any bio filter in your filter is lost. Probably great for beginner fish keepers who are not in tune to the nitrogen cycle, though. I would like to see a latched door at the bottom so I could replace the chemical media and just squeeze out the sponge and put right back in. Some reviewers said they just cut out the bottom to do this. Regardless, great little filter!

Tubing gets clogged

I’ve used these for a long time and really like them. The only thing is the tubing connected to the filter gets clogged and you either have to clean it out or replace it. I replace it.

..but this has me throwing away the filter media. Which is a bad thing to do, isn't it?

I bought one of these when I was new to the hobby and didn't realise that actually the filter media, over time, builds up a population of bacteria which are essential to having good water quality for your fish. I guess this filter is all right IF AND ONLY IF you actually keep some of the one you are throwing away and attach it somehow so that those beneficial bacteria can colonise the new filter media quickly? Otherwise you are throwing away something that is very precious to your tank and fish. Youd think a manufacturer would say something about that.

Gone up in price by 50% since last week!

Good, but I won't be buying from here again (unless they go back to £9.99 again) as the price has just shot up by 50% overnight. They're far cheaper now to buy in an actual shop - even the more expensive places like Pets At Home are cheaper than almost £15 for two! Tip: ATM, anyway, they're cheaper to buy 2 single ones on Amazon than this pack of 2! (£5.09 for one, £14.75 for two...hmmm!)

Small World replacement filter cartridges ????

Perfect replacement cartridges for my little Small World filter which I'm using in a 12ltr tank reserved for baby Platies! ???? Unfortunately these cartridges don't come apart, so you can't prolong the life of them by rinsing the interior sponges out in tank water, making them pretty expensive seeing as they need changing every 2/3 weeks, but at least they come in a two-pack so there's a spare for the next change-over. Easy to click in and genuine Small World filter media ????

Great replacement filter cartridges

These are great and very easy to use, it works out cheaper than buying them individually. If you're new to this, these are just the replacement filter cartridges and you need to also buy the Small World pump to use with it. I usually need to change the filter every two weeks.

Smallworld filter

I regularly use these for my pet goldfish, Kipper. I need to purchase a fresh filter unit from time to time because after a few months the rubber suckers by which the filter unit adheres to the wall of the aquarium lose their suck. Having said that, I know of no better filter system and would be lost without it. So would Kipper.
