"Fishing Fun"

This diver works well, however I modified mine by installing a release. The release allows the user to fight the fish without the resistance that normally occurs with an unmodified diver. For details on how the release works look on You Tube. Using the Jet Diver to troll from 10 to 40 feet is more convenient than using a traditional "Downrigger" unit. Everyone that trolls should keep an assortment of Jet Divers in their tackle box.

Works great for trolling in my lake

Great for lake trolling.

I use the for trolling in a lake and they work well. I have the 10 foot, 20 foot, and 30 foot models so I can fish at multiple depths and I try to buy certain colors for certain depths so they are easy to identify. The product literature shows how the depth varies with the speed of the boat and the amount of line you have out. I usually run a leader of about 4 or 5 feet behind the Jet diver and I attach the lure I am trolling at that distance. At 3 mph and with about 35 feet of line out, I run at about 10-12 feet depth. With the leader I have some separation between the lure and the jet diver but I can also boat/handle a fish when near the boat. One thing I like about the jet diver is the way I get nice solid hook sets in the lip of the fish. The only reservation I have about the product's performance is the drag it creates when fighting a fish.

Leaked first time I used it

the internal chamber leaked the first time I used it. I got the clear one, so rust from the ball made it all nasty looking, and the water in it cause it to no longer work properly.
