A must-have for electrical work

During a small room renovation project, I decided I would replace all of the 1970's-era receptacles in my room with modern, up-to-code ones. Since I'm not a professional, I really wanted to make sure I took every precaution to avoid all possible hazards while working on electrical. This tool worked wonders in making sure all of the wiring I was working on wasn't powered, without having to come in direct contact with it. It detects hot lines from quite a safe distance and can be inserted into the hot side of a receptacle as well. It simply works, and it works well. Feels quite well-built too!

Lasted longer than my Fluker

I’m not a professional but have changed the occasional light switch or outlet. Making sure that the power was off correctly is obviously a necessity. I bought this and a fluker simultaneously and this one lasted longer allowing for successful battery change. I only have this one comparison but I replaced the fluker with another one of these

Not going to break the bank and seems to work well

It was not expensive. It did the job I needed it for. However, when testing wires it did flag a wire as hot that wasn't. So, I am not sure what is up there... Maybe some cross over in the line?

Valuable little work tool

This voltage indicator is by far my favorite simply because it can be heard several feet away even from another room. As a professional electrician I need dependability and this "Ticker" does the job very well. My workers are hard on tools and need a tool that can stand up to the job, so I reorder this model and forget the latest gimmick at the box stores.

BEWARE!! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!

I’m a red seal electrician, I have alway use fluke. But since southwire is half the price for a big name, I decided to give it a try. I bought 3 and all defective within 2-3 months. I always double check my wire when working on 240v and above. If I would have trust this junk, I would have died for sure. Same problem with all 3 of this junk tester, show it green even wire is live.

he tenido todos los que ofrece klein tools, uno de craftsman y uno fluke. de todos los anteriores es el mas exacto en cuanto a resolver si es fase o neutro aun que haya fases cercanas si es capaz de identificar el neutro es excelente

Cheap Fantastic little device

I can't believe how long I have gone without have one of these in my toolkit. This was the cheapest I could find and that how I like them. Clear loud beeps and LEDs make it easy not to get electrocuted.
