Great to add ginger to my masala chai
I like adding fresh ginger to my daily masala chai. Using the larger grater I have in my kitchen was inconvenient as it would involve a lot of washing after. This product, on the other hand, is ultra convenient. Small, easy to hold on my hands, and easily have washed in the dishwasher makes this the ultimate daily ginger grater.

Where has this tool been all my life
This tool is amazing. I love using fresh ginger when cooking and was excited to see how this would work. You can use it attached to the silver part and it catches all the grated ginger there or you can do it right over your pot. You can actually see the ginger coming out unlike my old graters that seem to just make a mess and no usable ginger to show for it. This is definitely a keeper!

Very Handy Kitchen Gadget!
What I particularly like about this ginger grater is that it’s relatively compact for a gadget and worthy of taking up some space in your drawer. When using it, the shape fits well into your hand's palm. The silver backing detaches from the front grater side. This is what you used to peel your ginger, much like a spoon that I would normally use before, and it worked just as well, if not better. I also used it with garlic cloves and it grated it down to a fine mince/pulp with ease. A feature that I particularly liked is that the grater's silver backing catches the contents when done. It separates easily, making adding it to the cooking process easy. I did find reattaching the silver backing to the front grater a bit challenging to fully engage at times. The cleanup was just as easy as a simple rinse. It’s a keeper.

Ergonomic shape
My go-to kitchen tool for this kind of work is usually a razor sharp 3" x 6" cleaver. A scrape, slice, smash, mince and scoop (or a series of them) and done in seconds with easy cleanup and then move on to process other stuff, like garlic and other vegetables, etc.--my tool for all reasons. This tool is more of a palmful than I expected and has a comfortable and ergonomic shape. It is easy to use and easy to clean. A good backup or for a youngster who wants to help out. The peeling edge is not overly sharp, but gets the job done.

Grates Well, though a Little Messy
This grater grates ginger well (we grated frozen ginger since we buy it more in bulk and freeze it). We typically use a microplane, which requires you to grate in one direction. The nice thing about this style and shape is that you can grate the ginger in a circular fashion which ends up being more efficient. It's also convenient that the "spoon bowl" part of the grater catches the grated ginger. However, because you have to hold it in your hand, it means that anything that doesn't make it into the spoon bowl ends up on your hands. It's not a deal breaker, but it is a little messier than grating it straight into a pan.

Price?
My only real comment is the price. It feels a bit high for what the product is, basically a tiny grater and a spoon. However, you're paying for the convenience of having a one-off product focused on one duty. It is very efficient at that duty and easy to use/clean. If you grate a lot of ginger, this is gold. I think I overestimated the amount of ginger I would be grating.

A handy tool for ginger lovers
The media could not be loaded. As someone who frequently uses ginger in my cooking, I was excited to try out this ginger grater/peeler to help with the tedious task of dealing with ginger's irregular shape and bumpy skin. Overall, I was pleased with the product and found it to be an interesting and unique addition to my kitchen tools. One of the key features I appreciated about this ginger grater/peeler is its compact design, allowing for easy storage and quick access when I need it. It fits comfortably in my hand, making it convenient to use as I prepared my ginger for various recipes. While the peeling aspect of the tool performed admirably, effectively removing the skin from the ginger root without much hassle, the grating part unfortunately fell short of my expectations. The grater appeared to be somewhat dull, which resulted in the ginger becoming mashed rather than being finely cut, as I would have preferred. This mashing made it difficult to fully separate the grated ginger from the root, which was somewhat disappointing. Despite this issue, I still found the ginger grater/peeler to be a helpful tool for my ginger preparation needs, as it streamlined the peeling process. However, I would recommend using a separate, sharper grater for more precise grating results. In the end, while this product has its drawbacks, it has certainly made working with ginger an easier and more enjoyable experience overall. I would recommend this ginger grater/peeler to fellow ginger enthusiasts who are looking for a convenient tool to make the peeling process less cumbersome, but be prepared to invest in a separate grater if fine grating is a priority for your recipes.
