I needed an adapter to make this pipe work

Make sure you need a 3/8" pipe because if you have a 1/2" pipe like me - which is standard for me - you will need an adapter to make this pipe work, which costs about $5 at home depot. otherwise it worked fine. It would be nice if in the description it said what size the pipe is instead of standard.

installation of this was very easy - works perfectly

my old fire starter pipe had deteriorated - naturally I went to Home Depot first - but they don't 'stock' these items. should have know Amazon would have it - got it in 2 days. Besides the battle to remove the broken one, installation of this was very easy - works perfectly. Now my fireplace is ready for those chilly San Diego nights - lol

Not standard size 1/2" pipe, but it is 3/8" pipe

Smallest standard household pipe is 1/2". Therefore I thought this would be standard 1/2". But it's not, it's 3/8" pipe, so you will need an adaptor to use it.

Perfect solution

This was a perfect solution to converting our fireplace to a gas burning fireplace where we can still use our wood supply. We had the gas valve stubbed in the fireplace so it was really easy, and we were able to find the fittings to complete the job at Lowes, Shipping was fast and we're very pleased.

The pipe is nice. If you have a 1/2 pipe for it to screw into either don't get this one because it's actually 3/8 inch or if you do you can buy a piece to change it to 1/2 inch
