Excellent for potty training (We bought the elongated AND the round!) UPDATED
We just installed this and I’m in love. Every part of it slow closes. (see video). We bought this, along with the Squatty Potty toddler bear (with hat) to allow our 24 month old to use the potty. She loves it! This does not magnetically stay with the lid, which I like. A toddler can’t be expected to remove the seat before going potty... this is opposite of the Kohler seat which does magnetically keep the toddler seat connected to the lid. The attachment/installation and assembly was a breeze - EXCEPT, I had to remove the nut and the bottom plastic assembly piece and attach it from underneath once I pushed the bold through (not explained in photo-instructions.) Plus, there were tiny white caps that don’t seem to have any use, I didn’t use them (no idea what they're for). Overall, I chose this because unlike the Kohler one, this won’t pinch the little ones, and the potty seat can be easily removed down the road. Just hoping this helps other moms/dads out there. ❤ UPDATE: We've had this for about 4 months and LOVE it. Funny story, one day I sat my two-year-old on the toilet and as she slid herself back... UH OH! I forgot to put the tiny seat down and she fell in. It was so funny! We still laugh about it. Point is, the tiny seat doesn't fall down on it's own unlike other brands' (a good thing if you're an adult), so remember to put it down. I also admit to having sat on the potty with the little seat down MANY times myself without any negative consequences - so it's sturdy. It's thick/strong plastic, and it will hold up! I had to replace the batteries in ONE of the toilets after 2 months - but it may have just been my batteries. The other one is still going strong. (We purchased an elongated on and a round one.) On the light, it's worth noting, when the lid is closed, you can barely see the light so it's not a nuisance or too bright, but still useful. See my photos/videos for how the light glows blue. The light is set on a timer, and activates (starts) from the second you put the last batter inside the component. There's a pop-out piece that holds the small batteries and has a small blue LED light strip. You put the batteries in, and then pop that into the right side (when facing the toilet) of the toilet seat. So, if you're light's timer seems off from what you need, just take out the batteries and put them back in from the time/moment you want the timer to start. They'll repeat the cycle daily. So... we still love these seats. They were expensive, but so worth it!

No more pee on the floor!
Thought that might get your attention! Bought this training toilet seat to replace the Mayfair NextStep Slow Close Toilet Seat with Built-in Removable Child Potty Training Insert, which had good reviews and we’ve had for over a year. The main reason for the upgrade is the Mayfair seat has the potty training adapter for the little ones, held in place by a magnet (which is nice) but the only setback is that it is made of wood. That sounded fine in the beginning as it feels stable and has the slow close feature on the main lid but started to get discolored when cleaning with bleach which looks like running pee stains all over (quite unsightly). Now for the review of the Delta Faucet 823902-N-WH Sanborne Round Potty Training Nightlight Toilet Seat. I purchased due to being made of plastic (easier to clean), having the slow close feature (a must for toddlers closing the lid themselves), and having a removable toddler seat. The blue light is an awesome bonus for us dads who don’t want to bother turning on the light during middle of the night bathroom breaks. We keep the lid closed unless in use so the blue light emitted is just enough to see when it’s completely dark and is not annoyingly bright that it would keep you up if the lid is closed. Keeping it open may be a different story when not in use. But trust me when I say you want to train yourself to close the lid always prior to flushing or your wife may end up yelling at you about how much fecal matter is airborne when you flush with the lid open. Unlike other reviewers, the slow close feature works perfectly. A note to buyers, I originally ordered a replacement as I tested the slow close feature before installing on the toilet (seems sensible since why would I go through the effort of taking off the old one, only to realize the new one doesn’t work well right?). The replacement came the next day and It operated the same as the first one I ordered. To my surprise, due to the construction of the quick release feature for removing and cleaning the seat, you really need to have it installed for the slow close feature on the main lid to test correctly as the toddler seat will slow close right out of the box but not the main lid unless it’s fastened to the toilet. Lastly, there is not a magnet holding the toddler transition seat to the back of the lid as seen from other reviewers. One important thing I would add is you don’t need it to stick to the back as it has the slow close feature for the toddler adapter (unlike the Mayfair transition seat, that has magnets due to feeling loose and easily slams shut when disconnected from the magnet). It also rests well to the lid when the adults are doing their duties. All in all, this product is a win. May be slightly costly for something like a toilet seat, but when you have kids and the stresses of them learning to use the potty, you may pay a little more for convenience but with this product, you get bang for your buck!

Add two washers and this is perfect
In short I would recommend this product. The scoring questions are a little unfair because this is not an easy remove/clean model hence the only reason for four stars but I did not buy it for that reason. I bought it for the slow close and anti-slip bumpers. It has the features I wanted. Putting in two plastic screws is not hard but one small issue is That there should be two washers supplied. The plastic bolts supplied with it are narrow and when tightened only grip half of the wide mounting slot (designed to adjust the seat position). Very Easy remedy if you have washers of the right size around. Without that I think this could easily crack or wiggle. With the washers 100%. For some reason it seems to be hard to find slow close bumper and round front toilet seats and this product was really the stand out. Time will tell on the durability of the slow close feature but in my experience as long as you don’t force close the toilet seat that should be OK. Lesson learned from having a toddler around.

Great product and worth the money
Great product. At that price I was a bit nervous but it's totally worth it. Sturdy and no messy light fixture to clean, so very clever design. Makes me want to have a soft close lid in all our bathrooms! The family seat it perfect for the little ones, especially as we are potty training our twins. The adult seat is indeed a bit small although it's not really an issue per se. And after a couple of weeks you get use to it and don't think about it. The light at night is really soft and nice to have as a night light in the bathroom.

Make the purchase - great investment
So many reviews. So many options for transition toilet seat. Wasn’t sure which to buy…… Went with this one. Incredibly satisfied with the purchase! Seat is study and solid. Has not wobbled/moved since installation. Toddler is able to get on and off the seat independently and likes to use the “big person” potty! Light is fun. Only unfavourable mention is how the adult seat is smaller than normal toilet seats. Overall- worth the trade off. Strangely, there were leftover plastic parts after installing; however, it does not seem to have made any impact. Would purchase again!

Love it!
Light is perfect. Both lids slow close. Super easy install. The adult lip is big enough and comfortable. Potty training kid is comfortable and sturdy for my toddler. Much better than the competitor which I returned. Will buy another.

Easy installation and removal, looks good, but use not as anticipated.
On the positive side, this is a sturdy toilet seat with good grip and updates the look of the toilet. The illumination is disappointing. Visually, the opening appeared to be smaller than the standard. To be sure, I lined it up with my old round toilet seat and confirmed that it is definitely a smaller opening than standard. I am a moderate sized person and the size of the seat is uncomfortable for me. As noted in some reviews, the battery insert space might be the reason that the back of the seat is wider from end to end. So, despite the great price I purchased it for on Amazon warehouse I have decided to return it.
