Sandalas Dr. Martensas yra legendų dalykas. Viskas prasidėjo netoli Miuncheno (Vokietija) 1945 m., kai daktaras Klausas Maertensas sužalojo koją slidinėdamas Bavarijos Alpėse. Kad gijimo proceso metu būtų lengviau vaikščioti, jis sukūrė batus su oro pagalvėlės padu. Naudodamas senas gumines padangas, jis sukonstravo padus, kurių uždaruose skyriuose buvo įstrigęs oras. Jis parodė savo prototipą savo draugui inžinieriui / išradėjui daktarui Herbertui Funckui ir kartu jie nusprendė sukurti ir pagaminti batus. Batas ne tik išsprendė tiesioginę gydytojo problemą, bet ir pradėjo gerai prekiauti Vokietijoje. Iki 1959 m. jiedu nusprendė, kad jiems reikia įmonės, kuri gamintų ir platintų batus, tuo metu vadintus Dr. Maertens, kitose pasaulio vietose. Iš pradžių daugelis gamintojų atmetė oro pagalvėlės pado koncepciją kaip trumpalaikį triuką. Tačiau R. Griggs Group, įsikūrusi Wollaston kaime Anglijoje, nusprendė įgyvendinti šią idėją ir sukūrė pirmąjį darbinį batą su revoliuciniu padu. 1960 m. balandžio 1 d. buvo pagaminti pirmieji vyšninės raudonos spalvos aštuonių akučių darbiniai batai, pavadinti 1460. Kad prekės ženklas būtų geriau parduotas Anglijoje, pavadinimas angliškai buvo pavadintas daktaru Martensu. Asortimentas buvo pavadintas AirWair, o visa kita yra istorija.

Very stylish men’s wear

As an almost 40 year-old man, I love the way these look on my feet. The contrast of the several black straps against my white skin is eye-catching, especially with the leather being shiny. I just love the simple, traditional look to these. No fancy designs or colors. Just black leather and black rubber. Simple, elegant and stylish for anyone, any outfit or any occasion. They caused painful abrasions and blisters at first, but now I can comfortably wear them all day. When first wearing them, I recommend wearing socks and only walking short distances, giving your feet time to recover until the leather softens and molds to your feet.

Black dye come off on feet

When my old Doc Marten sandals finally broke, I found that that model had been discontinued, so I tried these as the closest approximation. The leather is noticeably thinner than the old model, but the fit and workmanship are good. With a little breaking in, I expect the leather to soften up and become even more comfortable. The only negative is that the strap of the instep is rubbing black dye onto the top of my foot! After I noticed it, I started wearing socks (how lame is that -- socks with sandals?), so now it's rubbing black dye onto my socks. Quite noticeable with white socks, not at all noticeable with black socks. If you're up for wearing black socks with your sandals, you have no problem. Otherwise...

First pair of Dr. Martens Sandals in love

I decided to purchase these sandals after months of lusting. I’m really happy with my purchase. I wear a 7 1/2 in women’s and I purchase a 4uk and 5uk and for myself the 4uk felt better as this is a unisex size. The 5uk felt a bit big and I was worried that if once broken in I would end up with blisters as usually any sandals that have extra space end up rubbing against my ankles. These have to be broken in make no mistake! I’m slowly getting there but it’s worth it every time I wear them I get compliments galore! :)

Well made and nice looking sandal

These sandals are great. They're made really well and I love the way they look. Unfortunately, I had to send them back - sizing was sort of confusing and I ordered the wrong size. They're way too small (I thought it was a Men's size 5, but it was a Woman's size 5). Thankfully Dr. Martens website did a full size restock today and I was able to get my correct size from there. Would definitely recommend these, though. Just be careful with the sizing. Edit: I've had my sandals for a couple weeks now and after nearly two weeks of daily wear they're finally broken in. Be warned that the break in process is a bit rough, but you have to be persistent. Once they're broken in, they're amazing!

runs a bit small but it's ok

Came as expected, runs a bit small but my size is not available in Dr. Martens sizes (EU 36.5) so it's fine. The only thing is, front band is transferring black color to my feet because leather is colored black but it's expected. I hope it will phase out eventually. Aside from this, it's a great shoe!

A little narrow to be "unisex"

These sandals seem to be a perfect women's size 11. However, they are narrow and I think some men would find it hard to wear. They were stiff at first, but upon wearing them a few hours, they softened up and have become very comfortable.

Comfiest sandals I ever had

Looks great, modern but with timeless doc martens appeal. As for comfort - I think it's an individual case by case issue. I have narrow feet and they are honestly the most comfortable sandals I ever had. Have not experienced any blisters and did not need to break them in what so ever. Fits like a glove. Also, with the sole you get what you pay for, the stability is worth it alone. I had a little strain before and with any type of dr. marten it's much more stable and supporting, than any soft material sneaker. It ticked all the boxes for me.

Best sandles ever!! So comfy and have lived in these all summer including wearing every day walking around Orlando parks, no blisters, sore feet or anything! I am usually a size 7 but got these in a 6 after reading reviews to get a size bigger, and they fit perfect!
