Daktaras Martensas yra legendų dalykas. Viskas prasidėjo netoli Miuncheno (Vokietija) 1945 m., kai daktaras Klausas Maertensas sužalojo koją slidinėdamas Bavarijos Alpėse. Kad gijimo proceso metu būtų lengviau vaikščioti, jis sukūrė batus su oro pagalvėlės padu. Naudodamas senas gumines padangas, jis sukonstravo padus, kurių uždaruose skyriuose buvo įstrigęs oras. Jis parodė savo prototipą savo draugui inžinieriui / išradėjui daktarui Herbertui Funckui ir kartu jie nusprendė sukurti ir pagaminti batus. Batas ne tik išsprendė tiesioginę gydytojo problemą, bet ir pradėjo gerai prekiauti Vokietijoje. Iki 1959 m. jiedu nusprendė, kad jiems reikia įmonės, kuri gamintų ir platintų batus, tuo metu vadintus Dr. Maertens, kitose pasaulio vietose. Iš pradžių daugelis gamintojų atmetė oro pagalvėlės pado koncepciją kaip trumpalaikį triuką. Tačiau R. Griggs Group, įsikūrusi Wollaston kaime Anglijoje, nusprendė įgyvendinti šią idėją ir sukūrė pirmąjį darbinį batą su revoliuciniu padu. 1960 m. balandžio 1 d. buvo pagaminti pirmieji vyšninės raudonos spalvos aštuonių akučių darbiniai batai, pavadinti 1460. Kad prekės ženklas būtų geriau parduotas Anglijoje, pavadinimas angliškai buvo pavadintas daktaru Martensu. Asortimentas buvo pavadintas AirWair, o visa kita yra istorija.

I forgot how much I loved this brand!

I haven't worn Docs in 20+ years. They are still a great brand that is super comfortable and hold up well. They are a smidgen bigger than expected. Now I want them in all the colors!

Highly recommend

I have had these for 2 years so far and they look amazing. They clean up very well and are easy to care for. The break in period was like a month and it didn’t hurt at all.

Not the same as real Docs

I honestly didn’t even realize these were vegan until I was looking at the reviews just now. I thought they felt like a fake leather which threw me off. They’re hard, and I needed a sock between the boot and my leg because they hurt. The heel runs hard too. The boot itself it super light in weight. They’re nice but def not true to the brand.

Not sure of quality exists anymore clearly getting cheaper and cheaper the only boots I wear are doc martens . If this pair disintegrates they will be the last beginning to look like some of the T-shirts you get from China made of some type of plastic flammable????????

Boots are not leather. Size is good. But not comfortable. Padding inside shoe is poor. But looks ok for price.

Ethics + Quality = Fantastic Product

For almost as long as I can remember I have swooned over the delightfully punk boots that are Dr Martens. Durable, comfortable and fashionable, DMs have a reputation for being some of the best boots on the market with only one problem: they are made from leather, or in other words, the skin of a dead animal. Years after Dr Martens pulled their original vegan line, the non-leather boot is back but apart from the tiny phrase 'Suitable for Vegans' printed on the insole, it's almost impossible to tell that these are made with entirely man-made materials. I've even had a few comments along the lines of "I didn't think vegans wore leather shoes" before I was able to explain that they were imitation. The same thing goes for durability and comfort: the boots feel and act as if they were made from real leather but with the added bonus of a shorter wearing-in period. As far as fashion goes, the boots maintain the classic DM look but with a few subtle differences from their leather counterparts such as the gold eyelets rather than black and a slight two-tone effect which are both nice touches. At a similar price to the leather versions I would recommend these to anyone, vegan, vegetarian, omnivore or space alien, because they are simply wonderful. Thank you Dr Martens for bringing ethics and quality together, it's just a shame there aren't more colours available or I would be buying several more pairs.

Great fit and comfortable

I bought the same size as my leather Docs. They fit great and no break in time. I prefer the vegan Docs. They are comfortable right from the start.... No blisters!
