Good Filter But Restricted Flow

I installed this filter on the supply to a refrigerator ice maker and water dispenser. The filter quality seems as advertised, however, the flow is somewhat restricted by the tiny holes on the end caps. Takes about 1 minute to fill a quart bottle at 50 psi water pressure. Not a problem unless you are in a hurry filling a pitcher or drawing other larger quantities of water.

Works well.

I installed this in my GE smart water filter. It took a few days to clear the air from it and even a few days longer to clear the filter taste. After that, it works well with no taste and it flows more water through it than the GE brand filter.

Good Filter.

I recommend this filter. Got it for the kitchen refrigerator as an external single-stage filter for water and Ice. Works really well. Unfortunately, the price has been slowly creeping higher each time. So I'm forced to buy the same filter from another website.

Works as good as the name brand item

While this is obviously a generic version of the name brand item, the price is right, it looks the same, installs the same and the water tastes just as good.

Excellent value replacement for the GE filters

Excellent value replacement for the GE filters. Yes these do restrict the flow, as you should expect versus no filter.

The latest model comes with a flow restrictor to be installed on the outlet of the filter housing

The original model of this filter came with a built in restrictor on one end of it. A subsequent version came without restrictor which greatly improved water flow. The latest model comes with an add on flow restrictor which must be installed on the outlet of the filter housing. Its installation is recommended to "ensure the best performance of the EPU2L filter". Unfortunately I have not figured out how to install this flow restrictor on my system. I originally bougth these filters to reduce lead. I am not sure anymore that this function is done properly without the flow restrictor. I wrote to the manufacturer asking them to produce in the future the original design of the filter with the built in flow restrictor.

Doubled the price, and dishonest about product efficacy.

In recent months, this product has nearly doubled in price. The company suddenly insists a provided "flow restrictor" be installed, which requires modification of your water system to compensate for a design change to the filter itself. The newer filter design does not restrict flow, whatsoever, yet the company claims the filter will work adequately without the flow restrictor installed, simultaneously stating that the flow restrictor must be installed for proper function. Very confusing.

They recommend adding a fitting to slow the outgoing water rate

They add a fitting to reduce outgoing water flow for "better performance". This fitting needs to be installed on the existing cartridge holder output. This means modification to your existing setup. The output is rated at 0.5 GLM. Useless product. I did not even install it and did not return it. Wasted money!
