Not a 4 speed switch

The light dimmer works fine. The 4 speed fan switch is what Kichler recommend on their 3 speed fan. To me the switch is backwards. The first setting (actually the second on the switch) is for high speed going progressively slower as you move the switch up. Additionally it does not have a very smooth action. I would give this part of the switch only 2 stars and the light dimmer 4 stars for my rating of 3. This is really to bad as their fan is great.

Fan control works "backward"

While the light slider on the left of this switch works in logical order - from "off" at the bottom thru low light to maximum brightness at top - the fan slider on the right inexplicably does the opposite. The fan slider moves from "off" directly to the maximum fan speed, and then the fan slows down as the slider moves upward to speed #4. While you can ultimately get the speed where you want it, this isn't an optimal design. Kichler Customer Service confirmed this description of the fan slider operation to be accurate, so it's not a matter that the switch was incorrectly installed. They also confirmed they are aware that the "white" switch isn't white - and indicated that the "ivory" switch is a bit lighter in color, but neither is actually white.

The light dimmer makes sense going from off at the ...

The light dimmer makes sense going from off at the bottom to full brightness at the top. The fan slider, however, has off at the bottom, then MAX SPEED right above it and it gets slower as you go up. While this technically works, it is unintuitive and inconsistent. Also, although it claims to have a white finish, it is off white so it will not match other white accessories you may have.

not white!

it would have gotten a five star if it was the same white as all other outlets and swicths. its like an off white that looks terrible when you have it in a three gang box with two other WHITE swicths.

Function?? Color off...

The switch was the style we needed, but the color was off. It was not a white and did not match other outlets in the house.

Works as advertised for the Kichler fan line. Can verify the switch required by going to their website and following the links to accessories.

Nice switch

The switch works but the lights on the Kitchler fan aren't dimmable. I was a little disappointed but that's not the fault of the switch!
