Great fleece, not great for layering in my situation
This is a great fleece jacket that is very pliant, soft, stretchable-enough and a light-medium weight where you could wear it, say, when it's just below 60 F inside your house as a lone layer and stay cozy. Unfortunately this was purchased to be used in layering over a heavy form-fitting polyester hoodie and under a light jacket. For this, it's not so great since it's a bit baggy in the sleeves (especially the bicep, and somewhat in the forearm. It can be used for layering but only if you don't mind having movement inhibited a bit or wear a really baggy outer jacket. Not sorry I own it but I do wish it were a slightly slimmer fit. Also, it's not very warm. Not warm enough to really want to use this as a midlayer. What I'm getting at is that this is a nice piece of athleisure wear to be enjoyed on its own. The seams are nice and flat and don't bother me at all, and I'm easily annoyed by pokey seams. The two zip pockets go ALL THE WAY UP, the pocket that is, not the zipper, so once they're open you could really pack quite a bit of crap in there. I'm not sure I understand why Marmot does this with their jackets but it doesn't hurt. Could stuff a hat and gloves into one pocket alone, or a full roll of paper towels. Weird. I've not been particularly careful with how I wash it, but even after 5-8 washes the fleece still has some water repellent properties, which is nice. Would totally buy this again. Great find on my journey for the perfect midlayer but not the last stop.

Nice Lightweight Fleece
I'm 5'9", 170lbs and size Medium fits great. Pros: + The rounded shoulders allows for more leeway between people's size. I have a few other fleeces that fit well but you take a gamble online trying to find a perfect size. These rounded shoulders (the seam is only in the front and back of the shoulder, not over the top) help. + Fits great with a t-shirt. I usually layer this over a button down for work. At that point you might be getting tight with zipping it up (won't look at nice). It's a fine/small fleece. The new style lately with fleeces are these larger pills - which is fine but they tend to get "pilly" after a few washes. This Marmot fleece does not get like that because it's a very fine knit. Pros/Cons: It's very lightweight. It's meant for layering. Don't expect this to do much on its own other than offer a little warmth around the house. Cons: Price. At full tilt it's a hard ask. You can get something like this or warmer for half the price (like Columbia). Marmot has the quality for sure - but you're paying for it.

Sleeves too long, too tight around waist, too thin....
Way overpriced for what your getting (very, very thin weight flannel). And I really don't like the fit - I'm a bigger guy at 6'2" and 275 lbs and on me the sleeves are too long and it fits a bit too tight around the middle. I can still zip it up, but it's not relaxed enough to feel comfortable. I'm really tired of the "unisex", "slim" and "athletic" (read: another word for "slim") sizing that is so prevalent these days. Not all grown men are still the same size that we were at 14 or 15! Sheesh....

Wrong size?
I ordered size M for my husband’s Christmas gift. The jacket I received had a tag that was attached with string stated size M. But the size that was printed on the jacket was L. My husband usually wears size M. I am not sure what size we received. The one we received was little buggy, but he kept it. I didn’t like the quality control of this manufacturer.
