Beautiful, But Smaller, Sunglasses

These are gorgeous sunglasses that come with large side of nostalgia. Patterned after the late 90’s original eye jacket, at first glance they are a close, if imperfect match. The sides are slightly more agressive in styling and lack the rubber grips, it they come close to the iconic looks. They also lack the subtle heft the lent the original a sense of quality and posh, leaving one with more a sense of cheaper knock offs, which is a shame given the price point. Despite that, however, the pure sexiness of these sunglasses would still be a keeper, that is fit they weren’t also one size to small. Part of the appeal of the original was the ability to accommodate a higher nose bridge. The more delicate sizing, however, leads to a higher fit. Instead of comfortably resting close to or on the top of the cheek, creating a cozy nook for the eye, the bottoms find themselves lost in space, leaving too much light to bleed in from the bottom. Sadly, no matter how much glory of one’s youth they conger, no matter how much they drip with late 90’s coolness, they look better sitting on a kitchen counter than on one’s face. And for that, they must go back.

So light I forget I'm wearing them

Yup, the eye jackets are back. Had a few pair back in the 90s and I must say that I really was expecting pretty much the same thing from the redux. I'm happy to say they are not what I imagined. Sharper, more angled lines and the prizm optics are clutch. Very light as well. Dont expect them to be glasses that you can throw around as they are very thin framed. Happy with the purchase. Great looking glasses.

Just like the Eye Jacket from the 90s!

Talk about nostalgia from my teenage years! Perfect fit with a modern design. They are identical in fit so if you loved these in the 90s, you won’t be disappointed. The model featured has the PRIZM Polarized lenses. For this with sensitive eyes like mine (large pupils and LASIK surgery), the upgrade is recommended. A good case (triple pack) is the RayLove as featured in the photo.

Nostalgia Trap?

These arent like the ones of my youth. Much more flimsy and they are too small. I have 3 other pairs of Oakleys, plastic and metal and I love them. These ain't it and I was so excited when I seen they were bringing the 90s style back. Better luck next time.

Nothing beats an old favorite.

The Eye Jacket was my favorite pair of plastic frames Oakleys. Still fits my face perfectly. Glad they brought them back. Now if they would bring back the metal frames Whisker.

I first saw these on dennis rodman in pictures from the 90s. Although these are a little more modern looking the fit and feel is amazing! Will probably get another pair in a different colour.

rivisitazione di un modello epico, gli eyejacket!

ho avuto due paia di eyejacket a metà anni 90, quando mi si ruppero erano ormai fuori produzione... li ho sempre rimpianti perchè avevano un'ottima vestibilità, si infilavano agevolmente anche col casco da moto indossato e per la loro forma evitavano il piccolo vortice che si fa tra lente e occhio negli occhiali a lente piatta, per intenderci, mentre si va in moto con la visiera aperta. Totale appena ho visto che li hanno rivisitati ne ho preso 2 paia, uno da mettere e uno da tenere lì nel caso smettano di produrre anche questo modello... per me irrinunciabili
