Missing parts

I was delighted to see that this Bucilla pattern for the Christmas Street Sign was available. When it arrived I discovered that the package had been cut open and there was no thread/needle/sequin packet included in the package. I can deal with that, because the instructions told me what colors of thread and what colors of sequins should have been there, and I have some "leftovers" from other kits, but it did bother me quite a bit that somewhere in the process, someone removed those items that should have been there and went ahead and shipped out the kit without them. That was disappointing. I've ordered from Plaid Enterprises before and not had this problem. My only other comment is the varied quality of the felt included. The white felt is excellent quality and nice and thick. The light blue is so thin it was almost tissue-like in spots. It is a very cute pattern and looks like it will be challenging, but I'm grateful to have been able to find it.

NOT for beginners!

I’ve done several of these Bucilla felt kits including the Must Be Santa advent calendar and 9 stockings. While some of those were time consuming and difficult this kit by far was the most challenging. It looks simple but trying to work around cardboard proved harder than I thought it would be. A few suggestions if you’re thinking of taking this kit on - get yourself really good embroidery and craft scissors. I found Beaditive Multipurpose Craft Scissors and Hisuper 4.5 inch Sewing Embroidery Scissors here on Amazon indispensable in cutting the felt pieces out. Also it was much easier to me to sew on the gingerbread girl, Santa and the Reindeer BEFORE sewing the cardboard in between the layers of the signs. Some of the felt was quite thin and would fray when sewn and the white sequins were pretty horrible as the colors on the white would fluctuate between yellow, pink, blue and green hue’s. I chose to purchase separate white sequins. Good luck to those that choose to tackle this project patience is a MUST! Difficult as it was I am still pleased with the final outcome.

So Cute!

Almost finished making this adorable Christmas sign. Everything went/has been going great. The only issue was the instructions are very limited and it leaves some things up to you to figure out. I wish the directions were more informative, but other than that, it is great! Takes a lot of time, but it worth it when you get something completed to move onto the next step. Can’t wait to see the finished product when I complete the final step I’m currently working on.
