Exactly what I thought it was

I needed this to replace dome old broken ones. These were an exact match, I couldn't believe it. They installed very easy and have a very premium feel when you use it.

The only parts in this package were the spindle and two doorknobs.

The package was complete; no parts were missing. BUT... the only parts in this "complete" package, were the 2 door knobs and the spindle. There were no back plates, striker plate, or latch (piston). I had to use the old latch, striker plate, and backplates. The old latch was the problem, so I could have just used the old knobs! I was very disappointed. I submerged the old latch (piston) in 3-in-1 oil, then wiped the extra oil off, and re-used it, along with the old backplates and new knobs. Newer sets come with the backplates permanently on the knobs.

Secure Attachment

I was please that I didn't have to replace a spindle and lock on an old door because this item was secured on the spindle with two set screws. That was an unexpected win!

Easy to install

These do have a seam, which has not affected performance. The photo in the advertisement shows no seam. Arrived as described and in a timely manner. Easy to install. I also purchased new "rosettes" to go with the new door knobs. I like the two set screws as many of my older door knobs seem to have problems staying in place with one screw.

Great value and looks great.

These are very good door knob replacement for an old fashioned door. Only thing is that the spindle is kind of short, 3-1/2". It still worked for my door, but it replaced a spindle that was about an inch longer. Also, the knob's female part that receives the spindle looks like cast iron. This is much better than what it replaced, which was cheap stamped steel. It looks like it'll take a while before the spindle or knob threading wears out.
