You can actually mount it onto the ceiling

You can actually mount it onto the ceiling - it is like a 3-hr project involving a trip to Menard. It looks and works great.

Wonderful design, not a ceiling lamp

I am updating my review since the first one where I just unpacked and tested it out. The look is very authentic and Japanese - very delicate and fragile. It is very nicely crafted. 5 light bulbs make it a bright lamp. The biggest draw back is its lack of design as ceiling lamp for an american home - it doesn't mount on to the ceiling and it never advertised it does. My low rating is because of the unwillingness of the seller to accept a return of a unused lamp more than the design or the look of the product.

arrived damaged

I have ordered and received two of these lamps. Both arrived damaged and missing parts. One was a soldered arm holding the bulb into the fixture. As there was no metal arm in the box, I assume it was made and/or shipped this way. Not a good product, even if it is attractive.

It is not what I expected it to be

I didn't expect that it was going to have to hang from a hook in the ceiling. The description didn't state that. I wanted a chandelier that was connected to electricity in the ceiling. I returned it but was refused a full refund. Of course, the fixture I finally bought did not come from that company as I felt I couldn't rely the product description.
