I was so pleased with the last order of Cool Blue Nitrile gloves by HQ-Products that I decided to try a box of the SemperForce Black Nitrile gloves to see if their slightly thicker construction might be an even better glove to have on hand in my vehicle for field work, and also for all around use when you need a tougher glove than the Cool Blue gloves would deliver. Don’t think for a moment that the Cool Blue gloves aren’t plenty tough, but the SemperForce Black Nitrile gloves are just plain thicker and tougher. I never wait until I am in the field to see how a glove performs; then it’s way too late to find out whether a glove meets your needs or not! In trying them out on some tough jobs from grabbing rusted pipe to semi-sharp metal to some glass and bottle fragments, these gloves really held up well. (I don’t suggest grabbing a handful of glass as a test; picking up remnants of a glass tube or a fluorescent tube or shattered window carefully is where I am going with this test!) At accident scenes investigators pick up shattered window glass, pieces of metal and all sorts of debris, so protecting their hands as well as protecting evidentiary material from contamination by fingerprints and skin oils is very important. The textured fingers make picking up small items easy and the texture runs way down the fingers, making it easy to roll items well down into your hand. Some glove manufacturers texture only the fingertips, so the longer the texture, the better in my opinion. The black color does hide dirt and grease, so in a shop environment your hands don’t appear dirty. That’s a plus and a minus as you need to remember to wipe your hands regularly to avoid dirt transfer to other surfaces. They wipe clean and in my test even stand up to soap and water washing with car wash and non-abrasive shop soap. The black gloves are powder free and offer good dexterity. Users will find they are a bit smaller than the Cool Blue Nitrile Glove, but in my case this is a plus as they fit even better. The cuff is a bit longer, another plus that I really like. Pricing is good and probably low for a glove of this high quality. There are 100 gloves in a box, compared to 200 gloves in the Cool Blue Series. That is because of the thickness. In all honesty, I would think you might expect a longevity factor of perhaps 50% greater wear with these gloves over regular all-purpose nitrile gloves, making them a respectable bargain. Of course, that all depends on your use. Excellent gloves for landscapers and outdoor workers. Again, my spouse gave these the dreaded gardening test and like the Cool Blues, they passed with flying colors. So well in fact, that she could use them again if she wished. I’d recommend them for more heavy duty work, including yard cleanup, and moving, cleanouts, industrial work and many other uses where a tougher glove is needed. Of course, they will see use in my vehicle where I need tough gloves at a minutes notice. As much as I like the Cool Blue gloves, I’ll keep some of them, and a larger supply of the SemperForce Black Nitrile on board so now I have a choice. Plus I always have to give out a few pair as it seems gloves are often forgotten until they are needed. That’s a really bad thing to forget at an accident. Your future life can depend on having and wearing those gloves! I believe these would be ideal for most anyone who must place their hands into soils, wastes, harsh soaps, detergents or chemicals of known composition, where nitrile gloves are appropriate. Also in dealing with forensic evidence to retain the purity of that evidence for further investigative and legal purposes. It is incumbent on the individual user to ascertain the proper use and adequate protection in choosing the right glove for their particular task and use. No matter how good the glove may be, no one glove will protect against all chemicals, acids or bacteriologicals. A great glove for a good price, heavy duty enough for just about any task. Well worth the money!
