Not sure yet if I'll keep these. They don't fit well, but that's because they're BDUs. They fit just like BDUs, so each size fits a wide range of measurements. In my case, I'm about a 32 waist, which means I have to get a Medium. Medium is meant to fit 31-35. So it will be big and baggy on me, but I can't get a Small because it's too small. Also, the 'knee pad' of doubled reinforced fabric is too low for me, just like BDUs. It's more of a shin pad, and barely reaches above my knee. This is a problem because my BDUs always tend to fall apart just above the reinforced area. You might say it's because I'm too short to wear 'regular' length, but interestingly, at the same time I ordered these, I also got a woodland camo (just like the military issue summer weight) in medium - short. And the reinforced part is even lower, and doesn't even come up to my knee! Not sure who designed these, but it's not helpful. All that being said, these Tru-specs are called BDUs so I can't hold it against them if they fit like BDUs... I got them because I needed work pants, and they would probably be good for that. But they are expensive, I have since found cheaper options. If those are ok, I'll send the Tru-specs back. Anyway... The material is heavier than I expected (thicker than summer weight BDUs), and since I got these for mechanic / carpentry / farm work, etc, that's a good thing. They seem well put together, but they're somewhat stiff (might soften up once washed) and not particularly comfortable (compared to military summer bdus that feel like pajamas). As mentioned, very baggy and loose fitting for me, and if you've ever worn BDUs you know they don't look like normal pants anyway. You probably wouldn't want to wear these pants in casual settings. If I could have gotten them for $20-25 I would consider them a good option for work pants. ------ update: I'm done with BDUs... I found LA Police Gear pants and like them a lot: LA Police Gear Urban Recon Pant OD Green-32 x 30 These particular ones are all cotton, fit well, are comfortable, and cheaper. Plus they can be worn as casual pants. But this company also makes other pants like BDUs, cotton / poly mixed pants, etc in different designs and are cheaper than these other brands. I would suggest going to their website at lapolicegear dot com for better deals and prices.
