Could be comfortable except for a badly placed tag!

I've been on the hunt for boxer briefs for my son that don't stretch out during the day and are comfortable for him to wear. Children's place boxer briefs are supposed to be just that. Well, I honestly can't say how they are after numerous washings, straight from the package he said they were comfortable and so I washed them all and put them in his drawer. The day after wearing them and adjusting himself more than he should, he tells me Mom, these would be comfy except for this itchy tag right here!!! Dude! Wtw! Why and who thought it was a good idea to put a freaking tag right in the crotch area of underwear?!?? I'm going to try to cut them out, but I honestly don't know if it'll make it any better...I'm not sure if all children's place boxer briefs are like this, but it's rather annoying! For reference he wears size 8 in clothes, and is a slender but not skinny kid! It did seem like his legs would raise up when he would do squats.
