Water filter replacement

I purchased this water filter as a replacement for a 20 yr. old refrigerator. Manufacturer was not able to provide one anymore. I tried another first that said it would work, it did not. I replaced with this one and it fit . A bit of a trick to screw in, but did work. My last chance at finding a replacement filter.

Exactly what was needed

Was just as described and works like a champ. Easy to install with no leaks. Add water and shake out as many bubbles as you can so that you have good water pressure and fewer air bubbles when using.

I received a used filter

The filter I received was used and the box was in bad shape as well. The retaining nut on the top of the filter was already removed and gone, clearly someone had placed a used filter in the box and kept the new one. Very disappointed with the purchase especially with the health risk to my family of not knowing what was in the filter. I threw the whole deal in the garbage and chaulked it up to being scammed .

Great filter

I saw some others who had some issues with theirs, but I thought I'd try it and see how it worked on my fridge. It's great! No problems at all, and actually seemed better than the one brand I replaced it with (that was about $10 more). The old brand would have some "flecks" come out for the first 10 glasses of water. This had none of that, just the normal 2 glasses with charcoal and it's been fine. Great buy for the money!

Works well after a few trays of ice. Almost all carbon filters that I have used will need some water to flow through them to flush out the really fine carbon before the ice is clear. If you have water through the door, then you can fill up a half dozen glasses of water and flush most out. After that, the filter is ready to go.

Different design but works fine on my old kenmore/Amana.

It fits

The price was good, it fit, the water tastes the same as the water out of the tap which was equal to the manufacturer supplied amana filter. What more can you tell without getting the water analyzed.

Filter did not fit

I had to return this filter because it did not fit my refrigerator although it was the one recommended. There was no problem with the return. I had to buy the manufacturer's brand.

Works well!

The filter for our Amana fridge is no longer made and this filter was able to work in its place!
