Sturdy and affordable
I bought this slightly used and it was in condition, like new. It is a little bit tricky to put together but it’s my fault because i don’t like reading instructions. It works perfectly for what I wanted it. The heavy stuff from the closet: jackets and pants. Recommended.

Great product!
Surprisingly very sturdy. Holds a lot of clothes. Good height for hanging clothes on both levels. Best of all , extremely easy to assemble. One person job. I would highly recommend.

Needs to be a few inches taller-great otherwise.
This closet was super-easy to assemble. It looked like it would be harder than it was, but the instructions were clear and it only took me about 10 minutes by myself. It is also very sturdy. I love the shelves--a great storage spot for my boots in their boxes. I was a bit disappointed with the clothing rods, or rather the spacing or height between them. As you can see from the photos, the bottom rod was too low for capris, skirts, or even long-sleeved tops since the arms would still drag the floor. The only thing I found that would fit well on the lower rod was jeans or pants on the kind of hanger that they fold over. The space between the top rod and the bottom needed to be a few inches more, also. I was able to make it work, but most of my tops or sweaters touch the bottom rod. This would be perfect for children's clothes or maybe young girls who wear mostly crop-tops, but the rods are a bit low for full-size adult clothes.

Excellent storage center especially for the price
I wasn't expecting too much due to the lower price point but I bought this to store my scuba gear after dives and was worried since a lot of my gear is pretty heavy but this storage organizer is very sturdy and strong. It tall and large and offers a great amount of area to hang items and and the side shelves to store items. Now if it can hold all my scuba gear, it will have no problem with your clothes and shoes. It worked great for me and I am very happy with it.

not bad for the money
I'll start off with a disclaimer about my expectations for this product. After having read several dozen reviews stating this product was absolutely sturdy, easy to put together, and pretty good all around I was delighted to have finally found such a product. I ended up being slightly dissapointed. My biggest complaint is the "instruction" manual for assembly. I'm a fairly handy person having remodeled an entire house and also pretty good with electronics from building computers and repairing various peices of equipment. I hardly ever read instruction manuals, rather I reference them for key peices of information regarding w/e product I happen to be working with. The only real peice of information I could need from this set of instructions was the directionality of the connecting center supports. And from what I could tell the instructions depicted parts which did not exist in my assorted collection of rods, plastic, and shelves. In the end it probably doesn't matter as the unit went together regardless. It was a minor annoyance, but poor instructions(especially ones that describe or appear to depict peices which are clearly different) are probably my biggest complaint across the DIY furniture segment in general. So after about 15 minutes of tapping rod into holes with a rubber mallet(small block of wood and hammer would work well too) I had assembled this gangly looking metal and plastic rack. Given a level surface I can imagine the unit would be pretty sturdy as a whole. I would still recommend fastening it to your wall in some way to prevent an unbalanced load from tipping it over, as is possible with any free standing shelving unit (this has nothing to do with the unit like other reviews might lead you to believe, rather it is simple physics). The shelving is welded to the structural tubing and I fear it will give way with excess weight or force (as I have seen happen at my place of employment where we have 1 shelf with a similar configuration). Milling a small hole into the tube, inserting the rod and then welding would have created a much stronger bond that would be less likely to break over time. The center rods that form the larger shelves have a considerable amount of give to them and bowed very easily when pressure was applied. The connectors for the top and bottom center shelving sections came apart twice during assembly of the unit. It didn't seem to matter how hard I forced the 2 shelves into each other they would not stay together. This could be a problem with the plastic connector or and simply a poor design. I would have liked to see a screw of some sort to accomplish the job of connecting 1 metal peice to another metal peice on a horizontal plane. I will probably do just that myself if I find the unit continually splits in 2. Overall I am pleased with the look and feel of the unit. Assembly was easy (15 minutes, really?!) and required absolutely no tools, though I'm not sure that is an advantage since it means no screws or locking mechanisms in this case. For the money I don't think you'll find a better organization unit and with only a few slight modifications this shelving unit would be absolutely superb.

Small and light-duty; might be suitable for some, but not for me
I needed a double-rail shirt hanger for my new smaller apartment, and settled on this (mostly because of the price). I wish I had saved the money and put it toward what I have now. I'm not saying it's not for anyone, but it isn't for me. First, I wanted something that would last, and this doesn't give that impression. Second, I'm tall (Men's L or XL), and that means that shirts hang about 38" from the rail. There's considerably less with this unit-- 32" from the upper to the lower rail, or the bottom shelf. Womens' or childrens' shirts may be able to hang without crumpling up at their tails. (This is for dress shirts and flannel shirts. Sweatshirts and sweaters just barely fit, with some of the longer ones bumping the floor.) I wouldn't really recommend it for the kids, though, or for constant use: The force-fit method of connection means that there's considerable sway, even when just sliding clothes on hangers from one side of the rail to the other. I temporarily solved this by putting a blanket on the top and letting it drape off the sides-- it still swayed with use but at least didn't bump into the wall each time. Assembly was easy, though I'd suggest a rubber mallet to (gently) seat the poles into the shelf supports. The only issue I ran into was the instructions, which note that certain "stickered sides" should go one way or the other; look carefully for a tiny round sticker, the same color as the plastic, on a few of the support pieces. Disassembly was easy too (especially with that same rubber mallet), and the unit is easy to carry whether assembled or not; so this would make a good emergency clothes storage unit. It's the same general idea as an inflatable bed. There's not much room between the top shelf and the top clothes rail. I use plastic hangers and had to twist them considerably to get them to fit under the shelf (and not hang up on the wire frame). Lifting a shirt off was also more trouble than it should have been. The bottom rail doesn't have this problem. I can't vouch for the long-term reliability of this product, but remember that it's metal poles friction-fit into plastic sockets. I would be surprised if it survived two years of modest use, based on experiences with similar systems. It might last longer if you used it for storage of seldom-used garments, something you wouldn't need to access every day. The "silver" is actually grey, which worked for me; it's not a bright chrome but a sort of industrial color. It's neutral enough to go with anything. I can't say it looks great, but if you're shopping for a cheap clothes rail, you probably aren't getting into House Beautiful magazine. (Time out for a short rant: Why are different colored products sold at different prices? I would have preferred the black paint job, but that was six dollars more. What, black paint is rarer than grey?) What I wound up getting was the ALGOT frame system from Ikea. Four units give you slightly more rail space than the Whitmor product, though no little wire shelves on the side. I got six, one of which had basket-drawer rails, and still found it a bargain at $129. If you can handle building the Whitmor, you can handle building the ALGOT. These screw together firmly and are much heavier-duty, though still have some sway to them when moving clothes (not enough so that I needed the blanket as padding). Four ALGOT clothes rail frames plus two top shelves will run you half again as much as the Whitmor unit, but will let you store taller mens' shirts and not worry that the whole thing will collapse. Now all I have to do is sell this slightly used wire-frame shelf unit. Any takers?

Great Storage... still strong after over a year of use.
My husband and I purged most of our clothes and bought this closet. It fits all our clothes (approximately 50 - 60 pieces of clothes hanging and about 50 pieces folded). Easy to assemble. Sturdy. Great functionality. Not an eyesore in the room since it organizes well. Takes up a small amount of space.

Good!
Seems fairly sturdy. I like that It Is a two tier and the shelves are really useful. I sprayed mine rose gold, which completely transformed it! Not bad for the price at all!

simply great solution for organising those clothes that don't fit the cupboard.Easy to assemble (would be easier if the font was bigger on instruction booklet and if a colour code was used. But very good product over all, light weight and easy to move around.

More solid then it looks. Very easy to assemble. I only wish it had wheels so I could move it around as i have it going in sideways betwen a wall and a desk.

A bit shaky
The instructions say it takes 45 minutes and it took me 30. Maybe that should have been my first clue that something was going to go wrong. First of all, it says no tools required. This is technically true but if you want it to not fall apart, get a rubber mallet or hammer with a rubber cover on the head. I used one partway through. It fell apart twice a few hours after I got it loaded up. I hammered everything back in and found a piece of thick foam to wedge between the side and the wall. I would not trust it as a completely free-standing item. Mine is in a closet and with the foam it seems reasonably stable. I was desperate for a solution so I'm settling for that.
