It's handy to be able to separate them!
I sought this out because I wanted the flexibility of being able to separate the pops without having to take them out of their container entirely as with a lot of classic popsicle molds I was used to. This has been perfect for making smoothie pops and taking some in my cooler to work. Ive been surprised that despite all the decorative grooves, I can generally remove a pop intact, as long as it was frozen solid and then I either ran it under the faucet before removal or gave it just a few minutes to soften slightly (don't give it *too* much time, tho). Cleaning is a snap thanks to being dishwasher safe, top rack of course. Be careful on placement in dishwasher, though, as it seems the pop handle piece could fall thru some dishwasher racks.

I'm an middle aged to aging adult, and I ADORE these. Freeze your smoothies!
Who knew I wax poetic about plastic ice pop molds?! I adore these. No, I don't have kids; I just need something cold after a hot afternoon in the garden or when I get home from work. "Natural" juice pops are hideously expensive, so I tried these with big jars of juice. The result is fabulous. SPACE You don't need the stand once the pops have frozen, and possibly not even then IF you are careful. The tops kind of "click" shut, and that seal is fairly good. None have leaked yet, but I'd still take care making sure each was upright before it froze. My frezzer is often stuffed too full to accomodate the bottom stand, so I just put each between things, on the freezer's door shelves. No problem. CLACKITY CLACK OF PIECES & MISSING PARTS? not. Now, usually, I really dislike kitchen gear that has too many parts or parts that are clumsy and therefore hard to store. This stores beautifully -- it takes up just enough space for what it is and no more than that. I throw both parts in one of the dish washer's flatware bin, so it makes clean up really easy. I use the bottom stand for storage, tho to tell you the truth, they are in almost continuous use. PROBLEMS? I want to list problems, but I don't have any, expect perhaps that at first, I found it difficult to get the tops off. Remember I said the tops "click" shut with the bottoms? Well, after a little experimentation, I found that you really just have to hold the bottom for, say, 20-30 seconds OR leave one out for two minutes at most. That melts the frozen juice just enough to easily release the tops. It is also important to note that although I really put a lot of pressure on the handles trying to get them off (by leaning them left and right), none ever came close to breaking off. They have withstood similar abuse from visiting children and impatient adults, no problem. I also tend to chew on pens, and I can barely get a tooth mark on the inner handles of these. I also have tried freezing juice that I mashed up in my bullet blender, and most versions make excellent frozen pops. You know, as if you froze a smoothie. Freezing gazpacho was my only non-winner, BUT these molds did not retain any onion smell -- hard to believe, but true.

Very nice though a bit big
I LOVE these popsicle molds. They are a nice improvement over the Tupperware ones I had as a kid. The tray is sturdy, the molds push into slots on the tray so they don't move around, and the possibilities for popsicles are endless. I'm experimenting with ice cream and popsicles this summer and these are my first popsicle mold acquisition. I know that I will be getting other molds soon and I will look for smaller sized ones. These groovy pop molds make a pretty large popsicle. Not overly large -- about the same size as one you'd buy in the grocery -- but too large for experimenting. I like to experiment with different flavors and ideas -- some work out better than others. With these large molds, the experiments that turn out less than ideal seem like a big waste. I'm willing to eat a less than perfect popsicle if it's SMALL but I get pretty tired of it when it's too big and not the result I had in mind when I made it. That's my only 'complain' about these molds. They are great when you have a really good popsicle recipe or a favorite flavor - but not so great if you are experimenting to discover winning flavors. But we're talking about fruit juices and soda here -- how bad can it really be?! These are plastic molds that are sturdy and safe for freezing. Many of the molds I previewed on Amazon are made with plastics that I wouldn't feel good about using to eat something from -- all of the freezing and thawing over and over breaks down the plastic and you end up ingesting chemicals you shouldn't. That was a key factor in my decision to purchase these molds. The fact that they are a bit big is much less of an issue than my comfort level with their chemical make-up. I've found that it's hard to make a bad popsicle! Fresh fruit, puddings, yogurt, soda...it's all good. Keep checking the molds that Amazon has available -- they change frequently. I'm keeping my eye out for slightly smaller Tovolo molds.

Great for making your own lollies
After reading some reviews on Amazon, I settled on these moulds and they have been perfect. A good size - not as big as a Magnum but not far off. None of them have broken, they go in the dishwasher and have all survived intensive use over the hot summer. It's really easy to make your own ice-cream lollies, I just mix cream, yoghurt, condensed milk and whatever extras I feel like e.g. chocolate chips, crumbled biscuits, raspberries, lemon curd. You do need some height in the freezer for the base and moulds - if you have an upright freezer check the height of the shelves. To remove the lollies from the moulds I leave them in a jug of cold water for 3-4 minutes.

Need a bigger freezer
These moulds hold a lot of liquid and make a good sized lolly; the base holds the moulds well and the lids also fit well. I didn't find it too hard to get the frozen lollies out of the moulds, if you run warm water over them and squeeze gently they slide out easily enough. The problem I had is that when the moulds were on the base and the caps were on, they were too tall for any of the shelves in my freezer. I had to take the moulds out of the base and lean them carefully at an angle against other things to get them into the freezer at all. So be warned, you need a shelf or drawer of more than 20 cm (8") depth to use these properly.

Frozen 5 a day
I was inspired to buy these having stumbled on a recipe page for popiscles on the internet. They are a fantastic way to achieve 1 or 2 of your five fruit/veg portions a day (though I wouldn't recommend making veg lollies ;-)) What is useful to know, which I'm not sure is mentioned in the instruction leaflet is that each mould hold approximately 100mL of liquid so you can easily make up your recipes to 600mL before pouring. I use sugar substitite too which is another great benefit of making your own. I've tried more adult ingredients Macchiato (espresso, milk, cream and sugar) Honeydew melon and lime Vodka tonic with a lime twist Mango, pineapple, lime and malibu (my favourite to date) In the struggle (probably due to my impatience) to release one lolly I broke the stick of the one of the handles. I tried superglue and adhesive/hardener resin glue but the freezing temperatures make the glue brittle and just snaps again. So having spent £6 on glue I may as well have bought another set of moulds for that price. Or what I've done and bought some wooden lollipop sticks for that spare mould. In fact the wooden sticks are good to have if you want to make a batch of 6, unmould them and make another batch without waiting around for the moulds handles to free up Basically anything that tastes delicious as a drink can be made into a lolly (just keep alcohol proportion down to about 1/8 to 1/6 of the volume otherwise the raised melting temerature makes them just fall off the stick and turn to slush) Enjoy!

Excellent product
We have been using these all summer and they work very well. One of the plastic containers cracked when it was dropped, probably a bit brittle as it had just come out of the fridge, but it doesn't leak. Just a few seconds under the hot tap and the lolly can be pulled free.
