I was skeptical due to reviews, but it is definitely a keeper.

The media could not be loaded. I was really skeptical about purchasing this because of all the bad reviews. But I am happy to report my machine works perfect. I was a bit upset to receive a used (1st ????) machine since I paid for a brand new one. But I will deal with that separately. I used the nespresso capsules and made my first cup of latte. That's after I had primed it 3 times with water. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't have any issues making a 4th cup of coffee back to back since this seem to be one of the issues brought up by other customers. Saying that they could one make 2 cups before it had issues. I didn't have the issues of the pump not working, but I believe this was due to being pre used as I followed a YouTube video that had to prime his about 3 times to get it to work. Mines started it the first time I selected an option, which verified my concern of it being used. Another thing that confirmed this was used was that there were particles in the water from water calcification. So I would definitely recommend never using tap water, it will help your machine to run smoother longer. I have not tried it with grounds yet so I can speak on that. My latte was made with a nespresso capsules starbucks blond. And the flavor was smooth. The other second ???? for me was that the double shot only makes about 4oz, which a normal latte should at least 8oz and a double should be 16oz. So that is my one huge ???? on this product. HOWEVER, for the price I guess I can live with having to replace a capsule and pushing a button one more time. And I would definitely not use the same capsule because the cup of coffee might be too weak but, I am just guessing. I will have to try it and see how it taste. will update on this. I would definitely recommend this product, and also would get the extra $30 for warranty just in case. I have made other purchases with the warranty and it definitely paid off.

Great beginner espresso machine

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife this past year. The packaging was great, box was not damaged, packaging was not damaged; however one of the pieces of the product itself was damaged. The return process was fairly simple and we also received the replacement in a timely fashion (about a week). The espresso machine runs really loud. Our house is not tiny, but definitely small enough that the whole house hears when my wife makes her morning espresso. The tamping tool provided is also the espresso ground scooper, which is cool at first but irritating after some time using it. The consistency on the frother is mediocre at best; especially if you make more than 1 espresso at a time. For example, if you have the frother set at the highest setting when you make a latte (100 ml), on the first latte you actually get the 100 ml. With each latte made after that, you get less.. I would say maybe 50 ml. And then you end up having to run an additional froth after to get the same output. Overall, good machine; but would say to be prepared to purchase a higher quality espresso machine sooner rather than later as this is clearly a beginner’s espresso machine!

Did not come with a manual Resolved by Support

Review what no manual? After 5 hours of trying to get in touch with the manufacturer via email (says they will get back to you within 5 days), called and entered callback number, then continued searching for the manual, after several hours, a total of 5 hours after receiving the product. Customer Support called and emailed a pdf of the manual and put me on the list to be shipped a manual. I set up the machine and wanted to hate it but it works very well, and I really enjoy it. Issue 1 is I seem to touch the control panel when removing grounds and removing the frothing milk Reservoir, turning the unit off corrects this. All in all a good value. If the manual had been downloadable I would probably not have even reviewed it this early into the purchase.

Decent at best

It's a decent machin. I LOVE that it has a portafilter adapter for original Nespresso pods in addition to the 1 and 2 shot filters. The problem with a portafilter is that one the coffee comes out unevenly even with the pods. Sometimes it comes just from one of the spouts. As for the froth it's not super smooth and it comes out very rough with large bubbles. This probably wouldn't be that each of an issue but compared to the Casabrews 3700 pro that I bought there's no comparison on the foam. The Casabrews 3700 pro foam comes out way smoother. I love that this chefman has a dedicated froth button though. Sometimes I just want to brew some coffee so it's very convenient that I can come over to this machine and just get some frothed milk. Like most machines though the distance is kind of small from the bottom of the port filter to the bottom of the basket so you have to use a small cup

Water tank shattered

It came in with the water tank completely shattered. And it’s out of stock now so I cant exchange it. I cant find it anywhere. Really disappointed
