Awesome grinding… tiny capacity

The end of a long search for a stick pepper grinder. This is my fourth stick grinder to try…. All the other three from other brands were returned because they sucked. This one is near perfect…. The size select is great, from cracked to fine. The only negative is that the chamber small, I will have to refill more often than I like. I took off one star for that reason. I am keeping it, my search is over.

Works well, affordable, easy to fill, nice quick grind

I have been using a really bad designed pepper mill from the big box store for years, decided to throw the bad pepper mill in garage and buy a nice one. Cost was not really an issue because I use the mill every meal. Based upon the poor ratings of even the most expensive pepper mills on Amazon I decided to go with this pepper mill. I like the design much better than the older one that used the screw at the top of the handle to adjust the grade.THIS MILL DOES NOT HAVE A SCREW ON THE TOP TO ADJUST .. the screw is fake you just pull the top assembly off to fill, it’s a press fit with no screws. The grind is really nice from dust to chunks, quick to adjust and no guessing or fiddling around with how tight the screw adjustment is or is not. Happy with the design, functionality and looks and priced nice as well. One side note the company wasted no money on the packaging lol, the pepper mill arrived loosely tossed into a box with other items, makes me think the packaging is a hold over from big box store shelf displays.

Great pepper mill!

My husband got me a short squat silver looking pepper mill with a crank handle grinder on top. He was "sold" this one by an "expert" at Sur la Table. It's awkward to use and a devil to refill - which is OFTEN! He was impressed, I was not. I saw reviews online stating this Cole & Mason pepper mill to be one of the top rated for the price. I got one for my husband several years ago. Everything was as promised, from the ease of filling, to the ease of setting the adjustable grinding, the actual grinds, and the looks and quality. It was all there! Finally, I've ordered the matching Salt Mill and am looking forward to a matched salt and pepper set that has been missing at our table for years! I'm just disappointed the salt mill does not also come with PRIME free shipping. No other store in our area carries it - online anyway. It would take a whole day to search during the holiday season. So a day of searching versus the $6+ shipping cost.

Better than most, not the absolute finest grind though

I had to return another brand that did not work on many fronts. This grinder is good looking, it has a quality mechanism, so they say, and is adjustable. In theory, if grinder quality was overall better in general across the board, this adjustable mechanism would be silly- I have a hand me down grinder from my mother from over 50 years ago that still grinds better, but I needed a second one, so purchased this. It is adjustable, and actually does what is says. It produces a reasonable fine grind, so for that I am grateful. I think unless you are trying it out in person at a specialty store, and can see the way it grinds, this is a good choice. Sadly, you have to spend the money on this simple item. I expect it to last decades now... only time will tell.

Great quality and grinds a lot of pepper

No fiddly nut to unscrew, the top just press-fits on for easy removal and refilling. The grind is what I would expect. Not too fine or coarse for the settings and it grinds a good amount of pepper so you don’t have to take 100 turns to get what you need… even if you’re making something like caccio e peppe that requires a ton of pepper

Great Pepper Mill

My husband the “Pepper King” is delighted with it. It is handsome and easy to adjust the grind. It is considerably less expensive than anything I saw in William Sonoma and nicer.

Amazing

I never realized how much a pepper grinder could change my life. After years of using cheap pepper grinders (either disposable or from discount stores), I decided to buy a high quality one. And I LOVE it. The grinder is quickly adjustable to ensure you get the right size grind, whether course or fine. It holds a good amount of pepper, but don’t try to unscrew the top!!! You simply need to pull the top off the grinder and leave the metal in place. LOVE IT. I included a photo with the top removed and showing the grind size from fine to course. Ran out of room on my place — there’s one larger/more course grind size than I’ve shown

Expensive but you get what you pay for

Excellent pepper grinder/mill. Grinds very smoothly on all settings. Feels like a quality product. The top pops off to fill it up. The screw on top is decorative.

Nice pepper grinder

Product looks good, feels good in the hands, works as it should. It is a big improvement over some previous grinders I have used over the years. It is too soon to see how it stands up to continued use, happy with it right now.

Liked the salt grinder so much, I bought the Pepper grinder!!

Finally a grinder that gives you a fine grind and not whatever it wants to. 3 settings to choose from. Top pulls off, the screw is decorative.

Everything about this unit is more than just a step ahead of the competition. We've had a number of grinders in the past and they all worked well to some degree; certainly not precise in any real way. The Cole & Mason, unit has a solid hand feel that provides 6 precise grinds with minimal effort to quantity ratio.
