Good slide sole if you're between a 4 and a 6.

I usually use the same sole until it's virtually bare. I ran into a problem the other night when I stepped on a wet carpet and got my sole wet, and didn't have a decent back-up sole in my bag to substitute. Went shopping for a new sole, couldn't decide it I wanted a 4 or a 6, so I finally settled in this 5. It works great! I'll be using 5's from now on!

For Dexter SST sole products the numbering system is set up so that the lower the number the lower the amount of slide. For example the sole 4 (s4) will slide LESS then the sole 6 (s6). The odd numbers soles (s3, s5, s7, s9, s11) are hybrid materials and can be trimmed three different ways to tweak the amount of slide you want. There should be trimming instructions on the inside of the cardboard that is attached to the plastic the sole comes in. However, I'll list them here using the s5 (pictured) as an example for trimming instructions. ~ The numbered side (red material) is the lower amount of slide material (s4 material) for this sole. ~ The non-numbered side (white material) is the higher amount of slide material (s6 material) for this sole. >> Trim more white material off (white towards the toe) you'll get the least amount of slide out of this sole. >> Trim more red material off (red towards the toe) you'll get the most amount of slide out of this sole. >> Trim an even amount of material (50-50) then you'll get exactly a sole in-between the s4 and s6 (my recommendation).

This is a sole, not a heel. Thought it might give a little more slide that the standard 5 rubber heel and less that the red felt heel, but it was not to be.
