Clean air to breathe

I like knowing the air circulating at home is filtered as much as I can get it. I change my filter monthly now. We moved from a more rural area to a metro location with heavy traffic. In one month of filtering here, it’s brown. It took a solid 3 months to get that way where we used to live. So I’m sure we’re breathing more pollution here when we’re outside. I like knowing inside our bodies can get a break from it because of the high quality 3M filter.

Good Compromise

These are not the densest filters out there, but think about it - too much filtration makes it harder to move air, and the filter will clog more often. The 1900-level, then, seems like a good compromise. I change mine every 3-4 months, or when they are visually dirty. Only downside - why are these so expensive?

These filters work!

Was glad to be able to find these filters in the 16” square size. They help when there are allergies, and also to keep the dust to a minimum.

Poor quality control!

These 6 16x16x1 Filtrete Furnace Air Filters were all packed together and not individually wrapped as shown in picture. 3 of the filters had glue on them that stuck to some of the harmonica strips together. Poor quality control at the Mexico factory!!! The seller is NOT at fault! They come in a closed cartboard box. The order of the 6 14x14x1 that came did luckily not have the glue problem. In the future I will purchase them separately myself at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Helen Eckman

Noticeably cleaner air!

I want to believe that it's not a placebo effect, because my air quality seems to have improved noticeably in my home after installing this. I upgraded from the lower MERV version to these and it just feels fresher. YMMV depending on the integrity of your ducts, etc.

Sizes don't match up

I upgraded from filtrete 1500 to this 1900. Turns out the "actual sizes" labeled are different despite being labeled to fit a 16x16x1. Unable to use these 1900 as they were too big.

If You Have Allergies - Buy These Filters

Look, I am allergic to the entire flora and fauna of the state of New Mexico. I am also allergic to cats, dogs, and many other seasonal allergies. These filters have cut down my allergic reactions (sneezing, coughing, etc.,) to such a degree, I am able to cut the medication I take for allergies. My only con in purchasing these, is that Amazon does not have a proper time frame for when to reorder automatically, which is not a problem of 3-M! Bonus fact: I live in a home with tile, not carpet for flooring, usually we have dinosaur dust bunnies. With these filters, we do not have dust bunnies at all, and less dusting overall!
