Good concept,. definitely needs a bit of work
Really good concept. We've got two big dogs and they go through gallons of water a day, and I was sick of filling up their gravity feeder. I was replacing the lines under my bathroom sink, and thought how great it would be if I could just plumb in a dog bowl that refilled itself. Well lo and behold the item already existed and so I ordered one. But as other reviewers have said, there were some major flaws with this item. Manufacturing process left a lot of rough edges on things and some of the gaskets were less than desirable. Not to mention I replaced the line on it because it was designed for a garden hose and not for a half inch bathroom line. That being said, I opted to plug and play for those first couple of days to see how things went. First off I noticed that the water would be brimming at the top instead of keeping a consistent level about a quarter inch below the brim of the bowl. And the tray which we had it sat in was full of water. Turns out that the water was overfilling the bowl and leaking out of the back. Turn the water pressure down, empty the bowl empty the tray tried again. Same thing happened. So after a few days I decided to go at it with some tools. As others have said when you remove cover and the float valve, and the brass nozzle in the back, you'll notice there's a tiny black gasket, well less of a gasket more just of a rubber disc. It's pretty thin and I do imagine that at some point the brass nozzle would pierce that thin rubber disc. So I dug it to my plumbing supplies and found one about double the thickness and replaced it. I also put a little drop of super glue on the back to keep it in place just in case. This fixed the issue of the bowl slowly filling past the normal / expected point. The last issue was the water was literally just flowing out of the back of the bowl. Where the float valve meets the bowl there was just this..... For lack of a better term... A shitty little piece of spaghetti..... That was meant to be holding all the water in. It doesn't work at all. Just rip that out and throw it in the trash. Then grab yourself a little tub of plumber's putty. Roll out a little sausage about a quarter to a third inch thick... And smush it into the groove that the old piece of spaghetti used to be in. Then reinsert the float valve by clipping it in the back and then slowly push it down into the plumber's putty. This will create a perfectly watertight seal. The great news is it doesn't impact the ability to clean the bowl. I bought a tiny tub of plumber's putty and I could probably replace this seal 50 times with the same tub. It's now been sitting for over a week, with zero issues and zero flooding and zero over filling. I don't have any special pressure regulator on the line beyond the normal flow valve that is standard in bathroom sinks, I have it turned down slightly, but in my eyes the pressure of the water was not the issue in this bowl It was the poorly executed waterproofing. A few design upgrades and this bowl could be flawless for use inside and out. I'd still order it again, and would immediately do both of these upgrades. I'll give it five stars for convenience even though I had to do make some upgrades to make it that way. Three out of five for manufacturing.. definitely need to work on the seams of the plastic parts and upgrade the gaskets.

Works great after a little modification
Our 6 month Aussie loves to play in her water, inside and out. She flooded the yard twice by tipping this automatic water bowl over so my husband attached it to the large paver. She still insisted on try to stand in the bowl so he placed it on the cement block, and now it is perfect.

LOVE IT!
Over 10 years this is the 3rd bowl I have tried (the first was a flop, the second was OK and lasted awile but it was replaced with this one) This one is hands down the best one. Hands DOWN! Excellent design! I love it. Did I mention I love it! :)

Awesome product
At first I was hesitant to buy because the photo looks like it may be cheaply made however it’s a great product! It durable and no issues with leaking. I’ve had it for quite some time now and haven’t had to make any adjustments to the water level. My dogs love it. Considering buying a few for my ducks. Great product. Highly recommend. 5 stars!

Works for Us
This is my second purchase - my last one was still functioning, but some weeds were sprouting and parts were green and I was too lazy to meticulously clean it. The price is so reasonable that I bought a new one and donated mine to someone in need. This one has a longer hose that came with it.

Tiny
This thing is tiny as hell. That leads to the plus side of it refilling often keeping the water fresher. Easy set up. Nice anti skid rubber on bottom.

The best of its kind
I’ve tried 3 of these automatic dog water bowls. This one is DEFINITELY the best. It doesn’t have to attach to the wall to stand up, it’s easy to clean, it doesn’t leak (if tightened properly), and the float works great. We have one inside and one outside for our dogs. It’s been so nice to not have to worry about constantly refilling a water bowl!
