Great calls, a must buy
The only reason I put 4 stars for "Easy to use" is because diaphragm calls are not easy to use by any means, it takes practice, patience, and a bit of tickling your mouth at first. Other than that, these calls are fantastic, they are sturdy built, my person favorite is the white call because it's the perfect size for my mouth, the blue being a little smaller. The sounds is crisp and clean and LOUD when you really get the tough pressure and air pressure up there during a bugle. I love the carrying case, it's hard plastic and sturdy to keep the calls from getting smashed up or anything in your gear bag, the only thing I'd change is maybe a few vent/drain holes in the bottom of the case so that moisture can escape because you don't want that sitting moist in the case

Take a little getting used to...
If you're a first-time elk hunter like I was, make sure you get these a few weeks ahead of your hunt, and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! I found myself having difficulty getting good calls when my mouth was dried out after huffing and puffing up a hill. You don't realize how bad it sounds until you're in the situation trying to call in a bull and you sound like a cat being strangled more than a cow mewing. I used these with a bugle tube with a little more ease since it's a little easier to go into the high pitch from the growl with a dry mouth than to hit that squeal right off the bat. I only gave these 4 stars becaused I chewed them up so much that I'll have to get a new set next season...and I WILL get another set because they work! Happy hunting!

Sounds good
I am planning for my first trip to Colorado elk hunting in the fall and bought this so I could practice calling on my way to and from work. The CD and calls seem to work well. It seems like they could have gone a little more in depth with the calls and maybe given more examples. They kind or rushed through the actual practice part. Anyhow, I just rewind it and listen to the short segment again. So I think it is a pretty good learning tool for a novice like myself and it really confuses fellow commuters when I am at a stop light practicing my bugles.

Awesome way to start your calling practice.
Great starter kit. Gets you going. The CD was very helpful. I thought it was a DVD but that's ok. I like that it has three calls. I found that I can really only use one of them. The others dont seem to work for me but it was nice to learn that rather than buying only one and not knowing what was wrong. Get a bugle tube though. It makes your calls sounds way better.

A good buy
I have a tone of elk calls. These are my second set of mouth calls. They are by far the easiest calls I have tried so far. I have been practicing everyday for 30 minutes. The more I practice the more realistic I think I sound. I purchased some elk hunting dvds to keep up with the cows and bulls on the show. The Idea is to match there pitch as close as possible. Having the confidence to do such should help out in the up coming season along with more practice and patience. Note: match the calls with these guys on the cd when they give there demo calls. it helped a little Then I put the calls that I used best in the case so I would know which ones I need to use when the time comes and I practice more on the other ones.
