My lack of one star is my attempt to speak for my cat... heh
This product is fantastic, IMHO. However, my cat didn't seem very impressed. She didn't even show much interest when I got it all charged up and set it next to her. She eventually gave it a sniff, but perhaps the little pouch of catnip was too old to inspire her? So I sprinkled some of my own on the tail, which had been sitting around for some time. There still wasn't much activity, but she batted it around for a bit. I eventually got her to play with it for longer than 15 seconds ...so she knows what it has to offer. I'm thinking my girl might just be too old or something. BUT this thing appears to be as advertised. If I were a cat, i think i would be all over it. If other cats aren't a lazy ingrates like mine, i'm fairly confident they will love it. heh OH! I plan to get some new 'nip' and see if that changes her tune. *fingers crossed*

Large and clunky, flops sometimes
Typically my cat loves toys and batting them around, he also likes stalking animals out in the yard so I thought this would be a good toy for him. I think the toy is just maybe too big (although he tries to chases squirrels). When you get it, it needs to be charged. It isn’t a charger you would have around your house so make sure you don’t lose the charger that comes with it. You have to unzip it so you can get to the charger and also the on/off switch. I also realized there’s a spot inside to put catnip as well. The whole inside piece is plastic, which makes the toy itself kind of heavy and clunky. Once you turn it on it starts flopping around and honestly it looks like a realistic hurt animal, which is kind of freaky. I think the aggressiveness of it maybe turned my cat off because he’s used to not being able to catch the animals he chases, and they are moving like normal. It’s touch activated also so either you have to touch it to get it to move or the cat does, otherwise it sleeps when it’s not being played with. It’s a good thing as well though because it helps the battery not go down as fast. For us the battery lasted probably around an hour or slightly more - because our cat was mostly uninterested in it. If your cat is interested and is playing with it and making it move around a lot I would imagine the battery will last even less than an hour before needing a recharge. Overall it’s a nice idea of a toy, my cat just wasn’t much impressed other than watching it

Dog enjoyed it!
I got this for my dog rather than a cat. She is a Norwegian Elkhound and LOVES to "hunt" for small animals, even if she never catches them. She is a fairly gentle dog though. I toss it for her, it flops around, she grabs it and takes it to a pillow and then I take it from her before she can damage the mechanism. She still gets very excited and loves playing with it for a few minutes each day. It will time out and stop moving, but does start again if I toss it. I would never leave her alone with it. We use it for short periods of time so I haven't had issues with the battery running down quickly. The fabric does feel pretty flimsy. If you want to simulate hunting prey, it can be a fun toy!

My cats don't pay it any attention
I have 4 cats, the youngest is 15 years old. None of them has ever had any interest in toys, I was hoping this would get their attention. They just ignore it. I have had it out for them for 4 days, I sit with them and activate it, they don't care. That is MY cats, if your cats do play with toys they most likely will react differently. I only gave 4 stars not 5, because for my cats, this didn't work to get them playing. This toy has a battery box slightly smaller than a deck of cards. If you also have dogs, don't let the dog near this as the dog can quickly crunch that box breaking the toy. There is a zipper to access the box for the on/off switch and to connect the USB cord to recharge the battery. The USB cord does come with this toy -- I did not see it in the photo, so wanted to mention that.

Touch Control Works
On another version of this toy the touch control didn't work, but on this one it works great! After turning it on initially, the squirrel flips around for awhile and then stops. When one of my cats touches it it comes back to life and flips around some more. It startled my cats initially but then they started to play with it and they seem to like it just fine. There is a small catnip pouch inside so hopefully that attracts the cats but it's hard to tell if it makes a difference. The pouch is pretty small. I like that this toy has a rechargeable battery - makes it easy to keep it going. The battery life isn't super long - it'll give you about an hour of flipping around before you have to recharge it. Overall, my cats seem to like this toy and that's good enough for me. The touch sensitivity makes it fun for them.

Realistic, fun to watch for animals and humans alike.
This toy is such a fun gift for your pets. It moves very realistically and shuts itself off when it hasn't been played with for a bit to conserve battery. Which is great because the battery doesn't last too long, which was slightly disappointing. The toy moves in a manner which makes it move across the floor and it will automatically turn on if your pet touches it which makes for a good laugh.

Adorable and fun to watch
Great you that is rechargeable. I had gotten another one for my cats too. It makes a lot of noise on hardwood floors, and is fun to watch the cats play with it. I will be gifting this one to the cat shelter who took in 30+ kittens and cats from a hoard. I want to share the fun with those kitties! This is a good value for the price.

Bizarre… worked sometimes and is loud / unnatural
Well I can’t say the one I received worked as intended, it claims to start wiggling once touched/moved, but the only time I could trigger it to start wiggling around was when I turned it on after powering off. It would wiggle around and go through its cycle of tail flops but once it stopped, it wouldn’t do it again until I repeated the power cycle steps. Most importantly, my cat doesn’t like it at all. Ha! He kinda was just like, “do you see this? What is wrong with it?” - it’s loud when it’s active, a very non-natural sound of the motor moving so I’m not sure if it was convincing enough.
