Simple to use and saves money the first time!

My small powered snake wasn't long enough to clear my main drain to the septic tank so bought this 50' unit. Simple to use and worked well. Plumber wanted $355 for the job, so paid for this snake and saved $100. Gloves furnished with unit were junk. Buy some heavy leather gloves. Twisting of the line is going to happen, so recommend turning the drum off and on with the foot switch and feeding the line in stages, because holding the switch during a twist can trap and mash your fingers! FedEx shipping took over a week and tracking info was useless giving a delivery date and time, then stating there was a delay and revising the date. I got 7 emails giving then revising the date. If you need it right away you can buy the same unit locally for about $60 more.

Works ok

Gloves are garbage one was actually half stitched inside out. Not a very stable unit. Cable tangled up u spooling had to take apart and respool it. All that aside the machine did do what it was supposed to do.

Good product

Great machine for the price! Don't use the gloves provided as they get stuck in the snake and can break your hand if your not quick with the foot pedal. Keep gloves lubed when feeding the snake. Did the job! Thank you.

cleaned sewage drains partially clogged by small roots growing in it

Worked great to clear out a partially clogged 4" diameter sewage line to the septic tank, about 60' down. Some small roots shoots had gotten inside the pipe. It was the first time I'd ever used an auger, it was easy. I wasn't sure if the manual feed would be hard to use compared to the more expensive power feed, but this manual feed was easy to use, and you can better feel the feedback of what is going on at the tip of the snake. Was cheaper than hiring a plumber, more convenient because I could do it without an appointment, and now I can (inevitably) use it again when needed.

Does what it is supposed to, will pay for itself.

Easy to use. Removed a partial clog in a basement floor drain. Will use for preventative maintenance to keep the drains cleared.

Cleared the main sewer line

We have a very long sewer line (100 FT with two cleanouts)) and it occasionally clogs from roots. We have paid several thousand to pros for power jetting over the last 20+ years. This last time I decided enough and bought this auger. Be sure to watch some videos if you haven't used one of these before or you will hurt yourself and damage the machine. You really need to keep the length of line between the machine and the entry hole as short as possible to avoid it twisting up. The included gloves are a joke so please do not use them. It successfully cleared out roots that supposedly were done by pros at a cost of $300 just a month ago. We had to order ours from a vendor in China on here and pay more as it was out of stock everywhere else at the time. It came a couple days late but that is to be expected in these times. The box was pretty beat up but the unit was fine. It took a little bit of work to loosen the motor bolts and get the belt on around the drum and pulley but it was better shipped with it off to prevent damage. From reading the reviews of people with motor/wobble issues I wonder if some are being shipped with the belt on. It should be removed for shipping.

Took this out of the box today.. it is the one they sell at harbor freight thats fine... but took it out of the box it looked like it has been used.. bolt on the top was rusty belt was off and scratches all over but the coil looked fine and it starts right up but it does seem more wobbly then i think it should be but i dont know..i havent used it yet but ill repost when i do.. so ive used it the motor got really hot and then the foot pedal stopoed working so its going back.. i called amazon and they said shipping is paid for or the company will reimburse the charges well its 179.00 to ship so hopefully they honor it.. just so people know the company doesn't pay the cost to ship it back if i knew they dont back their products then i never would have ordered from them... stay clear of this company

Nice Light-Duty Drain Cleaner

The main drain from my house is a 3" pipe that runs about 30' to my septic tank. It had become overgrown with roots and was starting to back up into my house during times of heavy water usage. I was going to call a plumber out to clear the drain, but after spotting this for only $170, I ordered it right away. Operation was straightforward and the instructions were concise but helpful for someone who'd never used a power snake before. Everything I needed (including the gloves) was right in the box. I opted to use the included arrow cutter. Ran a slow stream of hot water down the drain to help wash away debris and keep things lubricated while I worked, and this thing tore out all the roots without any problem. Cleanup was a breeze as well. The snake was pretty clean from the hot water I had flowing while I worked, but as I fed it back into the drum, I ran it under my garden hose and then dragged the snake through a bath towel to help dry it as it loaded back into the drum. I have it sitting in front of a box fan right now to take care of any residual moisture. Only main con I found was I feel the machine spins too fast. If it snags, it can get away from you pretty quickly. And if you've not used one of these before, it can be a bit surprising how quickly the snake can coil up and start whipping around at high speeds. I ended up modulating speed when necessary by tapping on and off of the foot switch. I also found that the snake seemed to be a bit tangled inside the drum, which made pulling it out a bit hard at times. To resolve this, I just pulled the entire length of snake out and then fed it back in, which only took a minute or two. This unit does not have wheels or an auto-feed, but at this price point, I have no gripe with giving up those luxuries. Overall, I'd definitely call this a good buy if you have a relatively short main drain that will require periodic cleaning of roots. At the same price as a service call to a plumber, you really can't go wrong here. One use and I've already broken even.

Good enough

You get what you pay for. The tool construction is cheap but you are buying the cheapest electric driven auger. By the looks of it and how it operates I wouldn't think you'll get a long life out of it. The attachment I put on wasn't machined correctly. It was bigger than the slot at the end of the cable. It took some effort to attach and stayed on for my operation. I would have rented one but that wasn't available in my area and a plumber to come out with a machine would have been 6 or 7 hundred. I had a 1 1/2 inch pipe frome the sink under the foundation to clean out. It worked well enough and I think I'll get a few more uses out of it. So it's a win overall

NO AUTOFEED

We saw "forward and reverse motor." We saw in the answered questions and reviews that this machine does come with autofeed. It doesn't. We looked at the next step up for the machine, but it wouldn't have arrived for 2 weeks, so we settled on this one (without wheels).

The switch did not work at first.

Machine was nice. Features were good. When originally set it up and tried to use the switch did not work. Had to flick it back and forth a number of times before it worked. Tested it a few weeks later and it still worked. Was a bit scary at first.
